Proclamation of Independence, Merdeka Stadium, Kuala Lumpur, 31 August 1957

WHERE AS the time has now arrived for the people of the Persekutuan Tanah Melayu will assume the status of a free independent and sovereign nation among the nations of the world.

AND WHERE AS by an agreement styled the Federation of Malaya Agreement, 1957, between Her Majesty the Queen and Their Highness the Rulers of the Malay States it was agreed that the Malay States of lohore, Pahang, Negeri Sembilan, Selangor, Kedah, Perlis, Kelantan, Trengganu and Perak and the former Settlements of Malacca and Penang should as from the 31st day of August, 1957, be formed into a new Federation of States by the name of Persekutuan Tanah Melayu.

AND WHERE AS it was further agreed between the parties to the said agreement that the Settlements of Malacca and Penang aforesaid should as from the said date cease to form part of Her Majesty's dominions and that Her Majesty should cease to exercise any sovereignty over them.

AND WHERE AS it was further agreed by the parties aforesaid that the Federation of Malaya Agreement, 1948, and all other agreements subsisting between Her Majesty the Queen and Their Highness the Rulers or anyone of them immediately before the said date should be revoked as from that date and that all powers and jurisdiction of Her Majesty or of the Parliament of the United Kingdom in or in respects of the Settlements aforesaid or the Malay States or the Federation as a whole should come to an end.

AND WHERE AS effect has been given in the Federation of Malaya Agreement, 1957, by Her Majesty the Queen, Their Highnesses the Rulers, the Parliament of the United Kingdom and Legislatures of the Federation and of the Malay States.

AND WHERE AS a constitution for the Government of the Persekutuan Tanah Melayu has been established as the supreme law thereof.

AND WHERE AS by the Federal Constitution aforesaid provision is made to safeguard the rights and prerogatives of Their Highness the Rulers and the fundamental rights and liberties of the people and to provide for the peaceful and orderly advancement of the Persekutuan Tanah Melayu as a constitutional monarchy based on Parliamentary democracy.

AND WHERE AS the Federal Constitution aforesaid having been approved by an Ordinance of the Federal Legislatures, by the Enactments of the Malay States and by resolutions of the Legislatures of Malacca and Penang has come into force on the 31 st day of August, 1957, aforesaid.

Now in the name of God the Compassionate, the Merciful, I, TUNKU ABDUL RAHMAN PUTRA IBNI AL-MARHUM SULTAN ABDUL HAMID HALIMSHAH, PRIME MINISTER OF THE PERSEKUTUAN TANAH MELAYU, with the concurrence and approval of Their Highnesses the Rulers of the Malay States do hereby proclaim and declare on behalf of the people of the Persekutuan Tanah Melayu that as from the thirty first day of August, nineteen hundred and fifty seven, the Persekutuan Tanah Melayu comprising the States of lohore, Pahang, Negri Sembilan, Selangor, Kedah, Perlis, Kelantan, Trengganu, Perak, Malacca and Penang is and with God's blessing shall be for ever a sovereign democratic and independent State founded upon the principles of liberty and justice and ever seeking the welfare and happiness of its people and the maintenance of a just peace among all nations.

Classic Car Rally Photo Contest - 2nd September 2012

HOW-TO JOIN

1. Stop by during speci ed times at Central Market, Sunway Pyramid
 and/or Alamanda, Putrajaya and check-out the classic cars on display.

2. Capture photos of the classic cars (with or without celebrities)
 creatively at any one venue and submit the photos online.

3. Submission of each photo is limited to a maximum of
 2 megabytes (MB).

4. Contestants may submit not more than two photos per venue.

5. All entries must be submitted via online (Upload address will be
 available on the 2nd September 2012)

RULES & REGULATIONS

1. This contest is open to all Malaysians aged 18 years and above,
 except employees of Petroliam Nasional Berhad (Petronas),
 Star Publications (Malaysia) Berhad and its subsidiary companies,
 and immediate family members of such employees.

2. All entries must be received by 5.00pm, 7th September 2012 (Friday).

3. No participation fee is imposed.

4. The contestants agree to be bound by all terms and conditions of the
 o cial competition rules and regulations as established herein.

5. The organiser reserves the right to extend the competition deadline
 for any unforeseen reasons if needed. Entry constitutes permission to
 use the contestant’s submission and name for future promotional
 and publicity purposes without additional compensation.

6. The announcement of results will be at The Star Motor Carnival on
 the 17th September 2012 (Monday). All prize winners will be required
 to be at the prize presentation ceremony.

7. The prizes are not transferable or exchangeable.

8. Prizes must be collected within thirty (30) days from the noti cation
 date, failing which; the said prize will be forfeited.

9. Winners shall gain ownership of the prizes upon collection of the
 said prizes.

10. Risk associated with the prizes shall be passed on to the winners upon
 the collection of the said prize.

11. The Organiser will not be responsible for any damages, loss or injury arising from use of the prizes in any manner whatsoever. All warranties on the prizes shall be in accordance with manufacturer’s terms and
conditions.

12. All costs relating to any travels, accommodation and risks in participating in the contest and all costs relating to any risks, taxes and duties on the prizes shall be borne by the contestants and winners respectively.

13. The Organiser reserves the right to photograph and / or use the names and personal particulars and photographs of the contestants and their entries for publicity and promotion purposes at any given time, without prior notice or consent.

14. The contestants agree to indemnify the Organiser against all losses, costs and claims if the contestants’ entry(ies) infringes the copyright of any party.

15. The Organiser reserves the absolute right to vary, change, reschedule or discontinue the contest and / or to vary, substitute, discontinue any or all the prizes at any time without assigning any cause or reason there-of.

TECHNICAL TERMS & CONDITIONS

1. Submission of each photo is limited to a maximum of 2 megabytes (MB).

2. All entries to the Photo Competition can be shot with any photographic device. Pictures from Mobile phone and Tablet are acceptable.

3. Images submitted are the contestant's original work and do not infringe on any copyrights or any other rights of any third parties.

4. Prize winners may be asked to submit raw images for veri cation.

5. Entries altered in any manner and those that do not comply with the Rules and Regulations of this contest will be disquali ed. Judges’ decisions are nal and no correspondence, request or appeal will be entertained.

6. Winners in all categories hereby grant The Star Motor Carnival the right to include their winning images for future promotional and publicity purposes without additional compensation.

My Favourite Cookies - Mama Carries cookies

Do you want to know why I love this cookies so much? Because it taste like milk and nestume. But believe it or not the recipe don't have a milk or nestume. I realy love it, of course for hari raya aidilfitri I always looking at this cookies. 

MAMA CARRIES COOKIES

Ingredients :

250 g butter

350 g flour

100 g icing sugar

150 g corn flour

1 teaspoon vanilla essence

Topping :

125 g icing sugar

1/2 egg white

1/2 tablespoon corn flour

Chocolate emulco

Method :

1. Cream butter and icing sugar. Add in vanilla essence and continue stirring.

2. Add in corn flour and enough flour till a soft dough is formed.

3. Roll to 1/2 cm thick and cut using cookie cutter of your choice. Arrange the cookies on a tray lined with greaseproof paper.

4. Spread the topping. For better result, use your finger to do the job.

5. Dip a toothpick into chocolate emulco and sketch on top of the topping.

6. Bake in a pre-heated oven at 150 C for 17 - 20 minutes.

7. Topping : Mix all ingredients to form a smooth paste.

Sarawak Laksa - One of the delicious meal @ my favourite

Everytime I landed to Kuching, Sarawak. What I chase the most is Sarawak Laksa. Its damm delicious. Its one of the delicious asian food. I rather to take early flight just dont want to miss to eat Sarawak Laksa every morning. Sarawak Laksa would probably be the second most named dishes when you mention it in the Hornbill state.

Who are the first time step in this Kuching, Sarawak the place that you cannot be miss to taking picture is here.  

Of course i've try to cook this dishes, but the taste its not like the one that I always eat at Kuching, Sarawak. Many time tried already, still cant fight the taste.

Sarawak Laksa contains no curry at all, the sup made mainly of sambal belacan, tamarind, galangal, lemon grass, the herbs and spices and coconut milk.

The taste of the sup, after adding some lime juice and extra sambal belacan, is a fine balance of rounded flavours with subtle hint of spice, not overly rich. Topped with the omelette strips, shredded chicken strips, fresh prawns, bean sprouts and coriander, every mouthful will make you cant forget the taste.

Breakfasting with my Besties

Location for breakfasting this year is at Umbai, Melaka.

We are gathering again for breakfasting ocasion for the year of 2012. This time our president of the club suggest Medan Ikan Bakar at Umbai Melaka as a place for breakfasting this year. As a plan with total of  13 friends including one child of my friends but still have another two couple cannot  make it. All total of four car join this convoi.

We start our journey from Kuala Lumpur at 3:30 pm and arrive there by 5:30 pm. All the way to Melaka traffic are little jam but our journey are smooth.

We arrive there and straightly go to the restaurant, at the first we quite sad because the table is full since no booking made, the problem is we dont have the phone number. But luckly at last we still got one tabble for us. Thank God...

We order more then six type of dishes like Ikan Bakar Sambal, Sweet and sour fish, Kangkung Belacan, Deep fried cuttlefish, sotong curry, otak-otak, nasi lemak and others. Come with a drink, fresh orange.  

All the dishes are so nice and great taste. Its a fresh seafood with a great Malay cooking style. The price are cheapest and affordable for all. We are so full and enjoy the food.

After breakfasting, we not straight going back, since tonite a Saturday nite so we plan to have a walk at Jonker Walk, Melaka. So many antique things there yet so nice and cheapest price. After tired walking and shopping we start our journey going back to Kuala Lumpur.
